David Gillies

David was born in 1981 and grew up in the heart of Speyside. Having studied Music at the GSMD in London and then later at the RSAMD (now RCS) in Glasgow, he took a Summer job at Royal Mile Whiskies and soon developed a passion for the spirit. A period working at Oddbins' flagship whisky and wine store in the centre of Glasgow consolidated David's love of whisky and added an appreciation for fine wine, real ales and cognac.

David joined the busy whisky team at McTear's in early 2012 and has since immersed himself in the world of auctioneering. In his spare time he enjoys writing and playing music, and presenting a movie music radio show.
