The Scottish Contemporary Art Auction

The Scottish Contemporary Art Auction on the evening of Wednesday 10th February features a stunning selection of more than 300 paintings and drawings by many of Scotland’s most celebrated and successful artists.
The line up for this auction is like a who’s who of the country’s top artists : Peter Howson OBE, John Bellany CBE, Alison Watt OBE, Barbara Rae CBE, Muriel Barclay, Ethel Walker, Gerard Burns, James Fullarton, Alexandra Gardner, Mary Gallagher, James Harrigan and Graham McKean – to name but a few !
There’s also a highly successful group of artists who continue to sell strongly auction after auction including Frank Colclough, Elena Kourenkova, Laetitia Guilbaud, Tom Scanlon, Moy Mackay, James S Davis, Ian McWhinnie, Lin Pattullo, Joe Hendry, Christopher Wood, Catriona Herd, Katriona Shale, Caroline Leburn, Lex McFadyen, Basia Roszak, Angela Lawrence and Mat Thompson.
Returning (after far too long an absence) are Judith Bridgland, Nigel Grounds, Connie Simmers, Donald Macdonald, Fionna Carlisle, Hazel Nagl, JP

McLaughlin, and Jackie Gardiner.
Artists making their first appearance in the auction include Gary Morrow, Lynne Johnston, Siobhan O’Hehir, Fiona Wilson, Michael Hepburn, Keith McIntyre, Bryan Evans and Emma Semple.
Finally, we have a few lots by “guest” artists who are not strictly “Scottish” – we shouldn’t be too insular ! Works by Rainer Fetting, Mervyn Goode, Giorgio Brunacci, Shanti Panchal and Yuko Shiraishi represent Germany, England, Italy, India and Japan respectively.
