The wonderful work of Archie Forrest
 |
Archie Forrest is one of Scotland’s leading contemporary artists, exhibiting around the world since in 1980s.
Known as Scotland’s contemporary Colourist, Forrest’s work embarks from the rich history of Scottish colourist, creating vibrant scenes with bold strokes of colour and contrast. Last month’s sale featured two early works by Forrest, and this month’s Scottish Contemporary Art Auction will feature a unique piece by the artist. ‘Botanical Study’ (Lot 181) was completed for the Garden Centre Painting Exhibition which featured works by many of Britain’s most notable artists, including Beryl Cook, Sir Robin Philipson, and Leonard Rosoman. Lot 181 is one 29 works consigned from a private Glasgow collection. This collection features the work of Shona Barr, Hamish MacDonald and Lillian Neilson. This collection highlights some Scotland and Britian’s most talent artists. These works are featured as lots 169-197 in the Scottish Contemporary Art Auction. |
