Although an offer received on a one-to-one basis may be seem fair, the open competition at an auction can often see expected prices exceeded. Also, the marketplace offered when selling at McTear's five weekly fine sales is international, with the sales run concurrently live online. To sell at auction you will pay an agreed commission and, in live online sales, a nominal lotting fee.
What Do We Value And Sell?
Our auction categories cover almost anything that you would expect [or even would not expect] to see at auction. The values of lots sold varies from under £50 to tens of thousands of pounds and more. Always seek advice from us on the possibility of sale, as it can often be that the least obvious object is the most saleable by auction. Executries
We work with Scotland’s largest solicitors firms daily and offer a complete valuation and auction service to executors and trustees of estates. At this difficult time, dealing with the contents of a home can be both upsetting and time consuming. We offer sympathetic advice, prepare the necessary valuations, the sale by auction of collections or complete estates, arrange delivery of any items to family members, ensuring the property is completely cleared, if required.

Payment of Proceeds
Payment is made to vendors usually in 4-6 weeks following the final sale by auction. Detailed statements will accompany the cheque.
Estimates & Reserves
We are happy to advise on an estimated price for your goods and we may agree a reserve price that will normally subject to just a small discretion.
